Shocked on arrival as we walked into what appeared to be a nightclub.Loud music both nights which was not advertised on-line when booking accommodation.Unable to sleep until after 1am.Disappointed shower did not work and dust was evident in room.Otherwise room was comfortable and staff were very friendly and cheerful.Food was good and reasonably priced. Warm,open fires in bar area.Comfortable bed.Friendly and cheerful staff.Central location.Good food.
Dislikes:
Loud music until 1am both nights-not advertised.Having to move car by 10am and look for another car park.Shower did not work.Dusty room.

Thank you for your review. I would like to respond to some of the points raised. We do state on our website we have live music. The music finishes at midnight, no later. You reported the shower as not working and it was a little stiff. Peter, our maintenance man fixed it in front of you and even got you to try it - you were happy it was working. Regarding dust, the rooms are dusted each day. Glad you found room comfortable and food good.

Relaxed, great welcoming vibe, great staff awareness and attention, good food. Love the fact The Vestry, is also a music venue.

General cleanliness poor. Jacuzzi switch not working. Stains on canopy of four poster bed. Stains on side of bedside cabinet. Very noisy at night from downstairs entertainment.

The whole hotel had a lovely feel to it and it was really nice how all the rooms were named after people instead of room numbers. The breakfast the next morning was cooked really well and there were some nice choices to choose from. Read less

I liked everything about the stay. The room was definitely good value for money and would definitely stay at the vestry again. Its the first time i have been to chicester and its a lovely town.

The hotel is ideally situated with good facilites, as the room are above a bar i expected quite a lot of noise but i was pleasntly surprised. i was however disappointed that the hotel does not provide food after 3 o'clock, i was visiting on a business trip and i didnt really fancy having to go out and find somewhere to eat, but the staff were helpful and told me of some places i could go. First class service from friendly and efficient staff.
Great location.
Really enjoyed the music night and did not have problems with noise, probably because we participated in the entertainment!
